Getting Started as a Real Estate Entrepreneur
The first thing you need to know about the real estate investing world is that most people you know do not exactly know what you do. I have heard, "So, you're like a realtor?" or "Oh, so you flip houses". People tend to be against anything they are confused about or do not fully understand. These are not the people that will motivate you to be successful.
Even professionals that you know and trust like realtors and attorneys may tell you it's "illegal" or a "scam", especially when they hear about the sales pitch you got at the three day seminar. Your parents may even laugh in your face and call you a fool for falling for their scheme.
Let these comments merely amuse you instead of bothering you because the truth is, you should only be taking advice from the successful people anyway. These are the people who are building passive income instead of relying on a failed retirement plan, so to speak.
You are on the road less traveled. It is an exciting journey indeed.
However, do not be fooled into thinking this is an easy way to get rich quick. Just like building any other business yourself, you need much education, dedication, networking, marketing, etc.
You will not get very far in this business without many key members on your team, such as a title company, a real estate agent, a contractor, a mentor, an attorney, other investors and more. Make a plan and stay focused.
